Farmers-Merchants Bank& Trust Company welcomes you to Breaux Bridge and to the Bank. Farmers-Merchants was opened at the corner of Main and Bridge Streets. In 1932, the Louisiana Secretary of State granted Farmers-Merchants Bank its charter as a locally owned community bank. It is among the oldest such banks in the state.

The Bank has always been locally owned and operated and still provides community banking services in Breaux Bridge, Cecilia, Arnaudville, and Henderson with automated teller machines in businesses along Bayou Teche, Interstate Highway 10, and the Atachafalaya Basin. We have Personal Bankers at each location who speak French. We specialize in serving our community with advanced technology. We service businesses and individuals all over Louisiana and other states. We welcome your business.

Farmers-Merchants has always been locally owned. Almost all of the original founders, investors, and managers were born and raised in this area. The Directors have been local business owners with expertise in business and finance. Directors are required to give personally to community needs with philanthropy and public service.

Farmers-Merchants' conservative philosophy has been to personally service customers and to recommend safe investments. The bank helped Breaux Bridge area residents in the Depression and during other financial and naturals disasters affecting agriculture, the oil and gas industry, real estate, all staples of the Louisiana economy. While other area banks failed, Farmers-Merchants grew and became the premier bank that helps people make sound business and personal financial investments and plan for the future.
